Eclipse Micropen

The Eclipse Micropen is used for a treatment procedure known as Automated Micro Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). This is a fairly new kind of treatment for acne, scars, fine lines and aging skin. It improves the overall appearance of the skin without the need for any surgery. In Dr. Agullo and Dr. Palladino’s office this treatment is used as a quick and effective method of dealing with all skin problems.

How does this treatment work?

The process is carried out using an Eclipse Micropen which creates micro injuries in the skin to trigger the production of elastin and collagen. This procedure results in the production of a thicker dermis with soft wrinkles and almost no fine lines. Your skin, therefore, looks younger and fuller. The Eclipse Micropen also helps in creating light micro channels which easily allow anti-ageing and damage recovery serums and creams to be absorbed into the skin.

Where is the Micropen effective?

The Micropen is the latest technology, which minimizes pain and is equally effective in all areas of the body that suffer from skin problems. The Eclipse Micropen can be used on the feet, legs, buttocks, back, abdomen, chest, neck, arms, hands and face.

The process of Collagen Induction Therapy

This procedure is carried out by attaching a sterile needle tip to the Eclipse Micropen. This needle tip contains twelve little micro needles that inject your skin by making small pricks. Dr. Agullo and Dr. Palladino will apply a smooth layer of gel on the skin before the treatment starts.

The Eclipse Micropen is gently and swiftly glided over the skin, keeping the contact firm and smooth until the entire area has been covered. This gives a sensation similar to that of sandpaper being rubbed against the skin. This procedure may cause discomfort and slight pain but it will be tolerable and the slippery hydrating gel will make the motion easier and smoother. This procedure will take around twenty to thirty minutes depending on the size and intensity of the area to be treated. Usually a single treatment per year is enough to achieve and maintain the desired results; yet two to three treatments might produce more dramatic and lasting effects.

The risks associated

The Eclipse Micropen is very safe to use and gives remarkable results, having very few side effects. Yet, there are some risks associated with it.

The process of Automated Micro Needling through the use of an Eclipse Micropen is a low risk and safe procedure for beautifying the skin by giving it the lost youthful roundness and plumpness. Other cosmetic procedures have a much higher risk factor and are also time consuming and temporary. Apart from that, they give an artificial appearance to the face, robbing it of all its natural artistry and charm.

In comparison, the Eclipse Micropen has the lowest risk; the process does not require any surgery or stitches. Many specialized surgeons like Dr. Agullo and Dr. Palladino can perform the procedure without the need for any anesthesia, which is a major advantage. In fact, this process, along with the Sciton laser and chemical peel tends to be the quickest, cleanest and most satisfying forms of face renewal.

The Micropen can give almost immediate results in usually just a week’s time. Right after the treatment, you may experience redness and soreness of the skin but this will heal quickly. The healing time depends mainly on the depth of needling and the quantity of the overlapping passes performed by the doctor. For a quick recovery, follow the instructions of your doctor. Dr. Agullo or Dr. Palladino will provide you with an ointment to aid the healing process. Avoid going out in the sun and wear sun protection at all times. The Eclipse Skin Revive system is designed specially to go with the Eclipse Micropen. It can speed up the process of recovery and can also give better results.
